A One948 Holiday Tradition

It’s that time of year again…with or without snow, the city transforms into a winter wonderland, with sleigh bells ringing and Christmas songs playing in the stores. We’re all about the holiday traditions—and we’re excited to embrace some of our very own!

It’s no secret among the “tribe” that only two businesses remain open on Christmas day—Chinese restaurants and movie theaters. Every year, family and friends get together to enjoy delicious food together and cap the night off with a movie.

So, let’s take a trip down memory lane, one of my earliest Christmas memories involved freezing my “tuchas” off on the ride downtown to see the General Electric Christmas Light Show. Afterwards, we would warm up at the Chinese restaurant. As one could imagine, the place was always packed from wall to wall! What’s truly remarkable is that the entire Jewish community is a part of this celebration. Inspired by this time-honored tradition, we bring you our ‘Holiday Tradition’ crewneck sweatshirt. In collaboration with talented graphic designer, Ryan Elk, this idea was brought to life.

I wanted to create a holiday sweater that everyone around the world would immediately recognize. This sweatshirt is a work of art as well as a fashionable piece of apparel. While the design (concept) is pretty self-explanatory, there's some hidden symbolism included in the graphic, which is a nod to both Christmas and Hanukkah celebrations. This isn’t another ‘ugly’ holiday sweater—we thought it should be something everyone would want to wear this at least two days out of the year.
